Hands Up High Into the Night

Hands up high into the night
Drive the dark away till dawn
Feel the pulse inside the floor
We belong to morning light

The bass line hums inside the concrete floor
Cold sweat is glistening on warm black silk
A strobe cuts through the smoke in silver blades
Nobody speaks because the sound is thick
We move like shadows in an iron vault
We leave the bitter winter at the door

Hands up high into the night
Drive the dark away till dawn
Feel the pulse inside the floor
We belong to morning light

The clocks are broken in this heavy room
The speakers breathe a dark electric air
You tilt your forehead to the blinding flash
A drop of water falls from rafters high
The world outside is frozen in its sleep
While we are burning in a house of sound

Hands up high into the night
Drive the dark away till dawn
Feel the pulse inside the floor
We belong to morning light

The blue light fades into a quiet grey
The shadows stretch across the wooden floor
Our breath is warm against the morning chill
We feel the city wake beyond the wall
The last chord hums a low and steady note
And no one drops their arms until the end

Hands up high into the night
Drive the dark away till dawn
Feel the pulse inside the floor
We belong to morning light
