Block Your Face Forever

A cracked blue case.
A warm glass screen.
Four thousand people in the rain.
Your side profile in the dark.

One tiny scratch.
Right on your nose.
The stadium lights are going dead.
Traffic frozen on the bridge.

My thumbnail press.
Your quiet smile.
Five hundred miles of open road.
I hold my breath against the glass.

Now I block your face forever.
Now I wipe you off my world.

A grey light shines.
Empty concrete bleachers.

Now I block your face forever.
Now I wipe you off my world.

A black display.
My fingernail bleeds.
The whole wet city humming low.
I walk away into the noise.

Now I block your face forever.
Now I wipe you off my world.
